A standard rocker or push-back recliner needs roughly 12 inches or more behind it to recline fully, plus room in front for the footrest. A wall-hugger needs only a few inches. Measure from the wall to where the footrest will end, and check the "fully reclined depth" on each product page.

A rocker tips back and forth on a curved base. A glider moves on a flat track, so the motion is smoother and quieter, and the chair stays level.
Usually not. The forward-sliding mechanism that lets it sit close to the wall replaces the rocker base. If you want both, choose a rocker recliner and leave space behind it.
