How to find the right part
- Find your series name. Look for the manufacturer label on the back of the headboard or the inside of a side rail. Ashley bedroom pieces usually carry an item number that starts with "B" and the series name (for example Willowton, Alisdair, Robbinsdale or Trinell).
- Confirm the bed size. Twin, full, queen, king or California king. The style matters too: panel, sleigh, storage and poster beds use different rails and footboards.
- Match the finish. Search the series name above and pick the same finish as your headboard, such as Whitewash, Rustic Brown or Reddish Brown.

Rails, slats and footboards explained
- Side rails connect the headboard to the footboard and hold the mattress support. Many queen and king beds share the same rails because both mattresses are 80 inches long, so you'll see "Queen/King Rails" on some listings.
- Roll slats are wood slats joined with strapping that roll out across the rails to support a box spring or mattress. Our twin, full, queen and king roll slats fit standard bed sizes, not just one series.
- Footboards come in panel, sleigh, poster and storage styles. Storage footboards add drawers at the foot of the bed.
- Under-bed storage adds drawers along the side rails of compatible storage beds.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy just one piece of my bed?
Yes. Rails, footboards, headboards and slats are sold separately, so you can replace a damaged piece or turn a headboard-only setup into a full bed.
Do rails include slats?
Some do and some don't. Listings that include them say "with roll slats." If yours doesn't, add a set of roll slats in your bed size.
Will a new footboard match my existing headboard?
Choose the same series and finish and it will match. Finishes can vary slightly between production years, so compare the product photos with your bed before ordering.
Do I need a box spring?
Most panel and sleigh beds with roll slats are designed for a foundation or box spring. Check your bed's original listing or ask us and we'll confirm.
